With the new year already in full gear you would hope that ever thing picks up speed. Unfortunately the old slow computer forgot to get the memo. The problem is that with ever new piece of software that gets downloaded or added to your computer your machine slows down.
For the new year the first thing that I will be doing is defragmenting my computer harddrive. Over the course of the year all that additional data gets stored onto your computer harddrive. unfortunately its not always installed in one straight data line. So sometimes your computer is slow because its accessing data from different parts of your hard drive. In the worst case scenario it can really start to get confused and you can hear the old hard drive spinning away.
Another problem could be that you have just jammed up the hard drive with to much information. All those mp3 files take up lots of space and if your machine is slightly older you might not have as much space as you like. Your computer needs several 100 megs of free space to work correctly. if your hard drive is almost full your computer running slow will be become an even bigger problem in the new year. You should delete all those files that you no longer require and those mp3 that you have never played. Your computer would appreciate the free space again.
